Daycare monthly cash budget

Use the three months to connect the complete cost of running a daycare with when cash arrives and leaves. Example amounts are invented, not local prices, payroll calculations, funding entitlements or a compliant staffing schedule.

All fields are required. Enter CAD amounts with no more than two decimal places, without commas or exponent notation. Enter 0 only when an item genuinely does not apply. A blank is unknown, not zero. This file calculates locally; it does not transmit, save or retain your entries after closing or reloading.

Opening cash excludes restricted/unavailable money. The minimum is a comparison threshold, not another expense. The receipt move assumes a valid amount eventually arrives in month 2; a denied or reduced amount needs different inputs. It cannot exceed month 1 program receipts.

On a narrow screen, scroll each table sideways to see all months or amounts. Keyboard users can focus the table area and use the arrow keys.

Payroll: enter cash paid to staff plus related employee withholdings remitted, once—not net pay plus full gross pay. Employer costs are separate. Example $32,000 assumes gross components are all paid in the modeled month and includes manager and relief pay. Include actual remittance timing in your own figures.

Do not count full billed parent fees and government amounts settling part of those same fees twice. Funding claims, parent prepayments, owner distributions, debt principal, tax payments and capital spending need their own correct treatment. No depreciation cash payment is included.

What the result cannot tell you

The low point is the lowest modeled month-end, not the lowest daily bank balance. Receipts arriving after rent or payroll within a month may require more cash. A negative result is a funding gap, not permission to overdraw or miss a payment. Review a dated short-term payment schedule and the actual agreements before making commitments.

Available new borrowing belongs in the financing receipt row only when genuinely committed and usable. Borrowing is not earned revenue. The tool does not assess staffing legality, tax treatment, programme eligibility, loan approval or business value.
